Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa is a luxurious three-hotel resort village and signature spa in Oman’s capital, Muscat. It nestles alongside the sparkling bay of Al Jissah in a dramatic desert setting flanked by rugged mountains and beaches.
The resort comprises three hotels: Al Waha; Al Bandar and Al Husn. Al Waha (The Oasis) is an ideal family vacation getaway, designed so its several swimming pools form an oasis incorporating groves of date palms. Al Bandar (The Town), its architecture inspired by old Muscat, lies at the heart of the resort and features buildings with a variety of ornate balconies. While international food is readily available at the resort’s many outlets, its culinary highlights are the Shahrazad, which serves traditional Moroccan cuisine, and Bait Al Bahr, offering Omani seafood specialties and great sunsets.
The resort’s CHI Spa is the most extensive and well-appointed private spa in Oman, with 12 treatment villas creating a sanctuary of personal rejuvenation and relaxation. Each villa has spacious relaxation areas that incorporate a private garden patio and garden rain shower. The unique Water Oasis features a vitality hydro pool, a herbal steam room, an ice fountain and a relaxation area. The rhassoul (mud treatment) and hamman (steam room) are wonderful ways to unwind.
The resort boasts a private beach and three expansive, cooled swimming pools: the pools at Al Waha and Al Bandar are connected by the Lazy River, down which guests can float for a winding half-kilometre.
